(Procedure) open proof : In Iran, this is judicial license to opt for arbitrary proof. ‘Open proof’ gives a judge absolute license to demand and give weight to any proof whatsoever that in his judgment will help him find out facts on the basis of which to issue a ruling, his own cognizance serving also as sufficient proof for ruling, the license usually creating as the result of the absence of established statutory or legal proofs for deciding the specific case pending before him.
